It’s been announced that tennis legend and former world number one,John McEnroe, will make his final Champions Tennis at the Royal Albert Hall appearance this December.
Taking place at the Royal Albert Hall from 6th – 9th December 2018, Champions Tennis is the final event of the ATP Champions Tour and offers four-days of fast-paced action and world-class tennis from the legends of the game, mixed with the usual tinge of humour.
As one of the sport’s biggest names, the seven time Grand Slam Champion will be playing on both 6th and 7th December. Best known for his shot-making artistry and volleying skills, as well as his on-court passion and fiery temperament, McEnroe is sure to bring the heat this December.
Alongside McEnroe, this year’s event will play host to other tennis legends, including Mark Philippoussis, Goran Ivanisevic, Juan Carlos Ferrero, Carlos Moya, Tommy Haas, Jamie Murray, Mansour Bahrami and Tim Henman, with even more names to be announced soon.
The tournament, now in its 22nd year, is comprised of an afternoon and an evening session per day-with two scheduled matches per session; one competitive singles match and one entertaining doubles match.
With more player announcements due in the coming weeks, this year’s Champions Tennis is set to be the biggest and most exciting yet, with plenty to see on and off the court. The addition of McEnroe is sure to draw in the crowds for the ATP Champions Tour finale.
